Zone: 3-7 Hardy deciduous shrub

Spread: 1.5 to 3 m (5 to 10 feet) - Root suckers to form a colony - control to the size you want
Bloom: Creamy-white, flat-topped tiny flower clusters in late spring
Foliage: Bright green; soft yellow to coral colour in fall
Fruit: Whitish-blue berries in late summer; loved by birds
Stems: Chartreuse green to yellow bark brightens the winter landscape - especilaly colourful on young wood, so prune 1/3 of the oldest stems in late winter to have maximum colour
Light: Full sun to part shade
Water: Moderate to ample
Soil: Adapts to most soils; especially likes wet or damp areas (great for stabilizing stream banks)
Site: Plant for winter interest near entries, windows, or in borders to break up dull grey landscapes. Makes an excellent hedge or screen. Use in mixed shrub borders, rain gardens, water edges (damp low spots, ditches, or along pond and stream banks and swampy areas).
