Bloom: From middle to late spring, low mounded plants are covered with bright white flower clusters dotted with yellow that attract pollinators in abundance. The very showy white flowers contrast beautifully with the dark foliage. Flowers are edible (in moderation) and have a broccoli-like flavour (Brassica family).
Foliage: Narrow leaves are dark green and evergreen Zone 5 and warmer (especially with snow cover). The slowly expanding mounds of this low, semi-woody shrub flow over stones and add shape to garden borders.
Light: Full sun; will tolerate some shade
Water: Moderate; drought tolerant once established
Soil: Average to dry (once established); good drainage critical
Garden site: Front of perennial bed; edging borders, paths, walkways; nice in rock and cottage gardens, and in containers. Can be used as a ground cover where there is no traffic.
