Spread: Same; some grow erect; some slump a bit, but flower stalks adjust to be on top
Bloom: April-May (but, actually flowers are very ornamental from winter to mid summer, beautiful under snow cover; clusters of cup-shaped nodding blossoms in light green - chartreuse to soft green with hints of rosy red
Foliage: Evergreen, dark, almost blue-green, shiny, deeply divided leaves replace themselves with no maintenance (discarded foliage becomes its own mulch); stems/branches have a reddish tinge in cold season
Light: Semi-shade to full sun
Water: Average, but excellent drainage necessary
Soil: Rich, humusy
Garden Location: Semi-hade gardens, forest edge; will volunteer single plants where it wants to live - often the best place aesthetically too!
