Bloom:  Mid-spring into summer; ivory-white flowers line graceful vertical stems; each  cup-shaped flower has a delicate fringe along the "rim" - thus the common name

Foliage:  Fuzzy lime-green maple-shaped leaves form a tidy mound that persists in mild winter areas

Light:  Part shade to full shade - think forest edge

Water & soil:  Moist, well-drained preferred; tolerant of dry soil

Garden location: Mid-range of woodsy areas; lovely with ferns; nice groundcover for forest garden
