Foliage:  Deciduous, purplish-green with serrated edges 

Flower:  From white buds in July-August dark blue ramshorn-like flowers that bloom well into October.  Flowers are mid-sized (2.5-3 cm), single or paired

Light:  Full sun to part shade to full shade

Soil:  Moist, average, with good drainage; can tolerate dry

Garden site:  Mid-size oval shape quietly complements other plants until it surprises with great flowers late in the season
