PLANT PROFILE:

Zone:  10-11  Grow here as an Annual

Height:  100-150cm [3-5ft])

Bloom:  Small yellow flowers give way to delicious fruit

Fruit:  Green fruit are enclosed in a papery husks. The edible fruit grows and ripens to bright orange, hard, crisp spheres with the refreshing taste (to some!) of pineapple.

Foliage:  Bright green, sticky, deciduous

Light:  Full sun

Water:  Moderate

Soil:  Not rich, moist but well-drained

Garden Location:  Requires caging or staking, or tying to a fence, like a top-heavy tomato plant, so best placed in the vegetable garden where it can be maintained, watered, and harvested.
