Soil:  Moist but well drained, acidic. Flower colour can be influenced by added lime for purple to pink

Maintenence:  After flowering, prune back to pair of two healthy buds; in early spring prune out damaged or diseased stems.

Garden site:  Accent or massed plantings; informal hedge
